St Bartholomew's Hospital

The brief

Tasked with erecting a protective gantry scaffolding, independent on the front elevation.

Overview

This project required comprehensive planning and precise execution to ensure safe and efficient access for maintenance and restoration activities while minimising disruption to hospital operations. An internal birdcage is scheduled to be constructed within the Great Hall, spanning from front to back beams. This approach is necessary due to restrictions on floor loading, as this section of the building holds Grade I listed status.

The challenges we faced

Scheduling night works to build the gantry to minimise disruption the public, due to the location of the project being in the heart of Piccadilly and having a hight foot fall during the day.

Interesting facts about the project

Outcome

System roof was craned on and then fully erected, as well as sheeted. Then the all access scaffold obtained a shrink wrap encapsulation to the independent.
